Barnstorming the Australian Tablelands

This past weekend at the Mudgee airport we scored some L&V (light and variable) winds with plenty of sunshine, and smOOth lift. YES! Made the 4.5 hour trip worth it! This gig was the follow-up to our appearance at the Mudgee Airshow, about a month back.

The weekend was designed to get some of the Mudgee folk UP tandem in the hang glider, via aerotow. Also, one of our new students from Sydney, Patrick, came out to get some air-time. His airtime tripled, I think, with a few tandem tows to 3500 feet. -Thanks to Dave, the tug pilot.

Pic below: Some of the Sydney crew at the Gloucester airstrip...Chris (standing) and Nathan (slacking). Chris, a restricted pilot, had his first ten tows over the weekend. -loved it, and said it reminded him of his waterskiing days..."waterskiing in the sky"

Thanks so much to the Mudgee Aeroclub for the hot showers and strong coffee.
