New Caledonia: Kitesurfing, Surfing, and Flying
I organized this catamaran surf trip for Louise and I last December. In the end, we filled the boat with friends and a wonderful Captain and crew member. Seven days of adventure on the water....We saw hammer-head sharks, black tip reef sharks, manta rays, dolphin, turtles, heaps of fish and bird-life... a zillion stars.
Here's my buddy Stephan (the Captain) toying with some solid double overhead sets in the kitesurfer:
He went hard until he eventually appreciated the casual "rescue" in the Zodiac-boat, pulling him and the ripped kite out of the drink.
I must say, the trip was inspiring...
-I'm currently lining up some new Ozone kites to wave-ride and sell in the Wollongong area.
We enjoyed learning some more French while in New Caledonia. Here's the flag:
Fish ON! As you can see, Paul and I are very serious fishermen:
Late afternoons, we'd sometimes anchor near an island for some hiking. Just before sunset, it starts to get slightly cool. -Good sleeping weather. Here's Louise and the dingy....
Check out those mountains on the mainland. Yes, there's good flying there. In fact, I borrowed some gear and went for a flight just after the boat trip. Next time, I'd love to go for some good cross-country flights....We'll be back, that's for sure.
