Hang Gliding the Stockton Dunes
ABOVE: Flying the new Moyes Malibu 188. This hang glider is a dream.
The ROAD TRIP:
After a great week of solid flying Stanwell Tops…Jonas, Olli, Tina, and myself loaded into the Warren Windsports company car and set off on a flying adventure.
The plan was to take our time and get some flying in along the way to the Dalby hang gliding competition.
The Stockton Dunes, are north of Newcastle, about an hours drive. You'll need a National Parks' permit and a four wheel drive. Weekdays are quiet out there, and of course my preferred time to go.
The day's wind and dune combination provided some fun yet challenging soaring. The lift band was very tight, requiring turns with wing tips not far above the sand.

"Dune Gooning" is truly fun and a different dimension than others forms of hang gliding. It's very social flying. Load up the car with friends and an eski.
Next we go XC flying at Dalby...!
