The outer shell is made from a rugged ABS plastic, with the internal shell consisting of Icaro's protective foam. The outer shell manufacturing process keeps the price low, without compromising safety as the internal protective foam remains consistent.
This helmet has an optional visor (black, orange, or mirror). The ability to add the visor can be handy in the cold weather. For snow sports, the orange visor works well in "flat light" conditions and can improve depth perception among moguls, and undulating terrain.
This helmet also has a ventilation ducts that can be easily opened or closed. The helmet has an internal mesh between the absorption foam and composite shell which contributes to the Airborne Sports Certification E.N. 966
Warren Windsports is proud to be the Australian Icaro helmet importer and representative. Icaro Helmets are committed to providing the ultimate in helmet safety, design, and comfort.
What I love is that's it's kind of a hybrid of a free-flying helmet and a snowsports helmet. -Looks "right" for both. The vents are a great idea. Headsets can fit into these, but secure slightly better with the other models that have solid shell over the ears. If money is tight, and you buy the FLY, you'll still have some dough left over to buy more gear!
