The Covert hang gliding harness is the brainchild of Jeff Shapiro (USA), a master pilot, rock climber, and seamster. Jeff and the Wills Wing crew released this harness in late 2010 and are continually working to improve it. Warren Windsports communicates regularly with Jeff to provide feedback and keep updated on his latest developments.

Carabiner option should be selected for conventional mains, unless you plan to supply your own carabiner.

This is for determining the length of your harness main (strap).

Measure to floor while wearing flying shoes

Measure from the top of shoulder down the front of the body

From top of armpit to the floor

Measure circumference of chest at the bust

Measure the circumference of your hips at the widest point

Measure length of your flying shoes

The Wills Wing Covert Harness is the latest in hang gliding harness technology.
The Covert harness combines the ultimate in drag reduction along with function and safety, making this a super competitive XC and race hang gliding harness.

The harness also includes great internal storage pockets, including space within the boot cone.
The Covert is made with a carbon fibre back plate with a specially designed aluminium insert, and is easy to remove/inspect without the use of any tools.

The slider mechanism is low friction, allowing for smooth transitions between prone and upright positions. The "Butt Lever" makes it easy to do hands-free pitch adjustments while flying.

The Wills Wing Covert Harness uses high quality materials, selected specifically to reduce drag and optimize comfort. Made from durable 400D diamond rip stop nylon double coated to provide protection from UV and abrasions. The elasticity of this material creates a smooth, aerodynamic finish.

Careful consideration has gone into the innovative design of the parachute system, and really focuses on having a good system to easily deploy a parachute, while still providing a secure housing for the parachute.

The Covert is suitable for most parachute models. There is also an upgrade option for dual parachutes in the harness.

Sizing: 

The Covert harness is custom made to your individual measurements.
Please refer to the Measuring Guide for instructions on how to measure.

Please note: Do not increase these measurements to allow for heavier clothing, or reduce them for a tighter fit for cleaner aerodynamics – either of these should be specified separately by requesting a non standard fit – either “loose” or “tight.”

Taking Your Measurements

Because the Covert is very closely tailored to your body shape for minimum drag, it is very important to have accurate and detailed measurements. Take all of your measurements wearing lightweight clothing. For all circumference measurements, use a cloth or paper tape.

Height:
Take off your shoes, stand up straight on a flat floor with your back against a flat vertical wall. Have someone place a ruler on top of your head, hold it level, and measure from the bottom surface of the ruler to the floor.
Note: After completing the Shoulder to Floor and Armpit to Floor measurements with shoes off, please repeat the height measurement (only) with your normal flying shoes on. Enter "Height with flying shoes on - " and this measurement in the special instructions text box.

Shoulder to Floor:
As above, have someone place a ruler on top of your shoulder, midway between your neck and the outer corner of the shoulder (in the area where the harness strap would normally lie). With the ruler level, measure from the bottom surface of the ruler to the floor.

Armpit to Floor Measurement:
As above, stand with your arms held 30 degrees out from your body with your shoulders level. Have someone hold a ruler up in your armpit, and measure from the top of the ruler to the floor.

Chest Measurement:
Measure the circumference of your chest at the nipples - relaxed, not "expanded." Women should measure around (including) the breasts, rather than underneath.

Ribs Measurement:
As above, measure the circumference around your ribs at the widest point (normally this will be about two inches below the point of the chest measurement.

Waist Measurement:
Measure the circumference of your waist, at the widest part above the belt line.

Hips Measurement:
Measure the circumference of your hips, at the widest part.

Do not increase these measurements to allow for heavier clothing, or reduce them for a tighter fit for cleaner aerodynamics - either of these should be specified separately by requesting a non standard fit - either "loose" or "tight."

Shoe Length:
Measure the length of your shoe - do not provide your shoe size.

Weight:
Weigh yourself without clothes.
