XC in Bright
Posted August 12th, 2008 by Curt Warren in
My buddy Olli Barthelmes recently bought the Ricoh GX 100 Camera from me...and has emailed this shot of him flying his Moyes Litespeed RS on a XC (Cross Country) flight near Mt. Bogong in Victoria. He shoots professionally full-time and had some great immediate results and positive feedback on the camera. Check this shot out! Makes me want to load up the car and head to Bright, Victoria for some classic XC hang gliding....
South Coast Dunes

Here we're testing (and loving it) a new Moyes single surface prototype hang glider (to be named the Moyes Litespirit or Moyes Malibu), developed by Gerolf.
We're flying at one of our favorite sites: Hill 60 of Port Kembla, Wollongong, NSW.
The entire coastline of Australia is loaded with tons of these sand dunes that can used for flying sites. It's whole other type of hang gliding...soaring and skimming just above the sand dunes..called Dune Gooning.

Easter Island, Chile, September 2006:
Most likely the first hang gliding ever (?) on the island....
Conrad, Selmsy, and Al went on a global reconnaissance hang gliding trip.
These guys modified their glider to short-pack it to near 6 feet, then chucked it on the airplane. I met up the crew in Tahiti....
Pilot: Selmsy
